I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
